I looked at that. Like you said, couldn't find any actual details on it (manufacturer, specs, warranty, nothing). It could stop receiving driver updates at any point. No mention of a warranty either.
I ended up going with the following setup:
I compared a lot of webcam models. Any higher up in Logitech models and you're jumping another $50 or so into Brio model territory. The main reason I went with the 930e was because it is the first point where they jump from a 70 degree field of view to a 90 degree field of view, and a business class model. A more minor reason was in most reviews I found online comparing webcams, they stated it had better color accuracy than the other 930/920's. And the most minor reason was because it comes with a Privacy Shutter (although I use a USB hub with buttons to disable inputs so I mean that was a very minor reason). The 90 degree FOV alone was worth the extra $15 over similar models, really.
As for the stand, while researching my setup I found it recommended on this sub. The reviews checked out, so I got it.
Three year warranty on the webcam, one year on the stand. Between the gooseneck, ball joints, and everything else, you can adjust it to just about any setup. A request to pan the entire room will be extremely simple as well, just loosen the final ball joint and rotate it. The base is also quite heavy, zero risk of it falling over.
I'd say spend the extra $50 and get my setup. Write it off during tax season as a school expense. I expect my next position to be at least hybrid remote work, if not entirely remote, so I'll still be using it after WGU.
Sidenote: In all cases, make sure you're getting it from the Logitech Store on Amazon or another reputable source. There was another listing for that same 930e when I ordered it a couple weeks ago for $60, but it was from a seller who's name was just Chinese characters. And in the reviews for it people were getting models that were not the 930e. You won't have a warranty if you get it from some random seller, so pay attention to the store you're ordering from if you're using Amazon.
