Do the headlight/tail lights on the Element flash when you press the fob button?

If the lights on the car flash, the car is getting a signal from the fob and the drivers side door actuator is not working.

Mine started out like yours, would lock but not unlock. Now it won't lock or unlock, but the lights on the car flash every time.

There are cheaper ones on Amazon for $12, but several reviews said the failed pretty quickly.

I watched a few YouTube videos on how to change out the actuator. I'm guessing it a two hour job. For the amount of time and effort involved, I took a chance on the more expensive Honda part hoping I won't have to do it twice.
