That being said, there are also a lot of cheaper ones. The Turtle Beach ones I included are probably the highest end ones they have before crossing over into professional headsets. You can buy an X12 for $50 which I am sure is a damned good headset for cheap but I'm looking for something that does a little more.
I would suggest Turtle Beach X12s.
Good sound quality / customization, comfortable, and they aren't all that much more expensive than what you've got now.
for playing XBox/PC I would have to suggest turtle beach. My husband and I have the X12 and I can't hear anything unless i have the sound WAY down and half off my ears. We use it for our pc's but they also work with Xbox 360. My husband is generally oblivious to our 2 dogs (jack russell and a hound) going bat shit insane with their barking, and he's like 2 feet from them. i should add that they have a very long cord...by long i'm talking 12 ft long. I also have very bad migraines and sometimes too much pressure from a headset can cause them. sometimes i forget i'm wearing these ones. I must also add...my ears don't sweat with these like they did with an older pair i had.
For walking/running/other stuff with my phone/mp3 player/kindle i use these from Skullcandy. even with the sound on low/med I can't hear anything around me.
