I have the Amazon Basics Kitchen Scale. Only $11, and it works great! I’ve had it for about 4 years, and I think I’ve only had to change the batteries 2-3 times.
Everyone who finds themselves overweight has definitely been incorrect about their eating habits in the past. That's not to say the blame, if any is to be had, lies squarely on your shoulders - imo it's more due to an inaccurate mental picture of how many calories are in any given food, unhelpful labeling (like how a can of soda is 2.5 servings, but the labeling shows you the information for 1 serving and places the responsibility on the consumer to figure it out), a food-like-product industry that makes shittons of money when they get people to buy more food, and a culture that really pushes excessive consumption in general.
Since you're here, it's safe to assume that you've been too generous in how healthy or how few calories you've been eating in the past, and it's okay to say to yourself "I better just measure this out to make sure." There's no shame in setting yourself up for success! Get out that measuring cup or food scale and figure out those portion sizes. You can do it!

I've been using it for 5 years now probably, and it works just as well as the day I bought it. And it takes regular AAA batteries, so you don't need to buy any weird batteries. And it's only $7.59 right now, which is an awesome deal!
