Do not get a USB-A only charger in 2022. USB-A is old tech and it's incredibly slow at both charging and data transfers. Micro-USB and Lightning are also old and slow. USB-C is categorically better than all of the other cable/connector types, and it's going to be around much longer than any of the others.

That said, you're not going to be able to do it for $30. A 14" MacBook Pro needs 67 watts to charge properly while in use and ~60 watts to charge while closed. Any charger that's going to output at least 60 watts while charging other things is going to have a total output of 100 watts or higher.

I personally have this charger.

  • If just my MacBook is plugged into it, all 100W able to go to my MacBook, which enables Apple's fast charging.
  • If something else is plugged into the charger via USB-A while charging my MacBook, the charger can send 80W to my MacBook, which allows it to charge the normal rate.
  • If something else is plugged into the charger via USB-C while charging my MacBook, the charger can send 60W to my MacBook, which is enough to charge it while it's off/while I'm sleeping.

(Just keep in mind that you cannot have your MacBook + something charging via USB-C + something charging via USB-A all at the same time and expect your MacBook to charge at a reasonable rate. In those circumstances, it can only output 45 watts to any single device, which isn't enough for a MacBook.)

Like you, I travel with a lot of tech. In addition to my phone (a Pixel) and my 14" MacBook Pro, I travel with an iPad Pro, a power bank, Sony Linkbuds, Sony XM5s, and sometimes my mirrorless camera with lenses. The neat (and intentional) thing about all my tech is that it all charges through USB-C. Further, I only ever need to charge the following three things (and only two at once max) using my wall charger: my MacBook, my iPad, and my power bank. All three of those things can charge any other device through its USB-C ports.

Over time, you're going to want to get rid of anything that doesn't accept USB-C input. Personally, I'd switch the iPhone out for an Andriod (or the next iPhone if it has USB-C like the rumors say) and sacrifice the Garmin + Kindle for apps on your phone and iPad. Adapters suck, Micro-USB breaks easily and is getting hard to find, and Lightning - which should be getting phased out soon - also breaks easily and will become hard to find.
