As far as switching CPUs, you would need to replace the motherboard also, as the risen will require an AM4 socket.

The Kraken M22 has been no end of problems to our clients over the last 30 months, as they seem not to age very gracefully. One of the larger issues is impeller failure, allowing the motor to spin but no water to flow positively..

As a rule of thumb, all of our clients with AIOs keep an air cooler under their desk, under their bed, in their closet, for testing and as a backup if they have to RMA their AIO.

Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE CPU Air Cooler, Dual Tower 6 Heat Pipe, Dual 120mm TL-C12C PWM CPU Fan, AGHP Technology

Having one on hand, reduces problem solving down to nearly nothing, and headaches minimalized due to the reduction in downtime.

Also, our clients tend to service their AIO set up about every 12 to 14 months, making sure that they use a high performance thermal grease

ARCTIC MX-6 (4g, incl. 6 MX Cleaner) - Ultimate Performance Thermal Grease, Very High 10.6W/mK Thermal Conductivity, Long Durability, Non-Conductive, Non-Capacitive

And something better than canned air to clean out the coils

Electric Portable Rechargeable Air Pump with 3 Nozzles for Airbed Air Mattress Swimming Pool, 4000mAh

Some of our elderly clients figured this out, and they found a thousand different ways to use it.

But this is the best test procedure we come up with, that's relatively quick and easy.

Not completely sure what a

dell inspiration 1135

...laptop possibly is, but it may simply just need to be serviced: Cleaning out the dirt/grime/dust bunnies, and replacing the factory thermal clay with high performance/high quality thermal grease. This is what our clients have been purchasing the most over the past 12 months

ARCTIC MX-6 (4g, incl. 6 MX Cleaner) - Ultimate Performance Thermal Grease, Very High 10.6W/mK Thermal Conductivity, Long Durability, Non-Conductive, Non-Capacitive

If the issue continues, the heat to on the heat sink assembly may have failed and will need replacement.

Let's review your post as a list.

We've got a tremendous amount of experience with our clients owning the SER5-Pro 5800H, which is nearly identical outside of the motherboard PCB being retraced from the FP6 socket to FP7r2, so we could support DDR5 quad channel and the new BGA. To the socket was revised, traces were added, and the new SODIMM retainer mounted.

For the sake of cooling, I don't intend to load a 2.5" SSD into the bay.

If you decide to use the bay, the trick (on a number of these mini PCs) has been to purchase a SATA to M.2 NGFF adapter, and utilize an M.2 SATA SSD if they need additional storage

M.2 NGFF to SATA Adapter Card B Key/B & M Key SSD Converter NGFF M2 to 2.5 Inch

Silicon Power 1TB A55 M.2 SSD SATA III Internal Solid State Drive 2280 SU001TBSS3A55M28AB

It allows for some creative positioning, and it's narrowed, less thermal intensive design offers less impedance to both airflow and heat generation.

What else should I know or plan to do once this thing arrives?

From our clients findings, as little as possible. Running the little boxes stock OOTB without adjustments are the clients experiencing next to no issues.

On past models, some clients have not been very fond of the liquid metal used from the factory, especially when attempting to push one past its limits. And the LM does tintage out quicker than it should (quality?). So after some initial use, generally about 12 weeks out, they service the unit if performance is seeming to taper.

This is what the majority of our clients are currently using

ARCTIC MX-6 (4g, incl. 6 MX Cleaner) - Ultimate Performance Thermal Grease, Very High 10.6W/mK Thermal Conductivity, Long Durability, Non-Conductive, Non-Capacitive

some recommended changes to the BIOS settings, but I don't know of those apply to the SER6 Pro

We advise our clients to give their mini PCs minimalistic adjustments for the first 21 days. This allows them a point of reference, the ability to detect a true defect, allow the mini the properly break in, and allow other people to be the guinea pigs so the client learns from their mistakes!

Ironically, the commercial customers that are picking these up have their IT department adjust the wattage to the 15W or 25W range. The performance drop is NOT that significant, and the service periodically the life expectancy is probably decades beyond the point of e-waste.

sometimes, the Beelinks do not load their Windows code into the BIOS and you have to email them for an activation code.

This has been a lesser issue, and was primarily in the transfer from Windows 10 to Windows 11. As stated, It's a relatively easy fix. The majority of our clients that receive one with a NVMe SSD simply clone the original in their upgrade process.

SSK Aluminum M.2 NVMe PCIe / SATA SSD Enclosure Adapter, USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) Model SHE-C325

Lazesoft Recovery Suite Home Edition w/ Cloning Tool

The process is quicker, cleaner, allows for backup of the original, and one satisfied, you have a handy/high speed USB flash drive to carry around.

I'm also picking up an externally powered USB3.2 hub to help connect everything.

When you choose a hub or dock that fit your needs, try focusing on one that will support the USB4 plug on the front, as it will give you the best performance and have the least impedance on the system. Our clients have also found that this design will significantly benefit if the power source is a GaN Tech PD

Evatronic 100W 2 USB-C Ports PD PPS Wall Charging Adapter [GaN Tech]

If you go with a standard USB Type-A hub (that's generally all we use here), make sure that it's at least being powered by a 12V 3A PSU or greater.

Oh, our team members are very familiar with the A515-44-R41B.

Your overheating is coming from bad thermal clay applied by Acer at the factory. It's the equivalent of a thermal pad, but it's made out of thermal paste material. It doesn't hold up very long. We were successful with using this and cleaning out the dirt and dust bunnies from the fan assemblies to noticeably drop the temperature.

ARCTIC MX-6 (4 g, incl. 6 MX Cleaner) - Ultimate Performance Thermal Paste Very high Thermal Conductivity, Long Durability, Non-Conductive, Non-capacitive

Acer also truly crippled the Ryzen 5 4500U by soldering a single stick of Timetec 8GB DDR4-2666 RAM to the motherboard, leaving the CPU and it's iGPU in single channel mode struggling with up to a 40% performance loss. Then, they originally had the BIOS cut the DDR speed back to 2400, further crippling it by another 11%!

Adding a matching stick of RAM really pushes the performance back in place.

Timetec 8GB DDR4 2666MHz (DDR4-2666) PC4-21300 Non-ECC Unbuffered 1.2V CL19 1Rx8 Single Rank

And in BIOS release 1.11, they finally cranked the bus speed up to 2666, which surprisingly helped the graphics more than the processor itself. The latest release is 1.12

Now, to deal with the charge port and the battery.

It is a possibility that you received. A defective battery has a replacement. It happens more than we care for it too, as our clients can attest. Still, it could possibly be that the charge port is not allowing proper charge current to the battery.

Unfortunately, this model has a soldered in non self-service charge port. But occasionally the negative part of the barrel connector on the motherboard becomes misaligned, and that's the problem. What will need to be done, is to have you remove the back cover and closely inspect the connector for broken solder, and hopefully not broken motherboard.

DC Power Jack Charging Port Socket For Acer A515-44 A515-54 A515-55 A515-54G

If the motherboard is damaged, it will definitely need to be taken somewhere and professionally assessed for a repair.

If the solder is cracked or the DC jack is damaged, the board will have to be removed from the laptop and the repair done with a hot air station.

But the part that will be almost impossible to see, that often causes continuity issues, is the barrel contactor at the bottom of the jack.

Barrel connector fork

Being on the bottom of the power jack, it's not even visible when you have the motherboard in your hands. But with a little skill, you can use a toothpick or paper clip to bend the contactor back up, so that it makes a better circuit with the outside of the barrel connector.

If you want to be on the safe side, and order a new charger/power supply, they're not that expensive.

SiKER 19V 3.42A Laptop Adapter Charger 3.0x1.1mm Barrel Connector

Let us know if you have any questions, we know this is a lot to take in.

We've upgraded four of these 27-xa0013w for our clients.

Between the inadequate 8GB of RAM and the completely inadequate 7200RPM hard drive (what was causing all the problems), they didn't hold up long without crashing.

But after installing a 2Rx8 Dual Rank 32GB RAM kit

Timetec 32GB KIT(2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz (DDR4-3200) PC4-25600 Non-ECC Unbuffered 1.2V CL22 2Rx8 Dual Rank 260 Pin

Silicon Power 1TB NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen3x4 2280 TLC R/W up to 3,400/3,000MB/s SSD (SU001TBP34A80M28AB)

Clean the fan and heat sink assembly, replace the thermal clay with fresh thermal grease

ARCTIC MX-6 (4 g, incl. 6 MX Cleaner) - Ultimate Performance Thermal Paste Very high Thermal Conductivity, Long Durability, Non-Conductive, Non-capacitive

And install a clean installation of Windows using the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool

Windows 10 Media Creation Tool

The above fixed all the problems and greatly enhanced the performance of the 27-xa0013w our clients brought in. And afterwards, you can use it as a monitor for your PlayStation.

Well it could be a number of things, the most common reason is thermal degradation (different from overheating) of the GPU and or CPU.

Basically, it's time to take it apart and clean it, and replace the (by now) thermal clay with high performance thermal grease.

ARCTIC MX-6 (4g, incl. 6 MX Cleaner) - Ultimate Performance Thermal Grease, Very High 10.6W/mK Thermal Conductivity, Long Durability, Non-Conductive, Non-Capacitive

Also, verify that you're running the latest BIOS for your laptop. It's off and overlooked, and can also cause something very similar just without the "sound".
