Hi there. This is a great place to come and ask about foam rollers! But, it mostly depends on your mom's preference. The link you have is to a foam roller I've personally tries and it is dense/firm. Some people (like myself) like that and for overweight people, it definitely does feel more sturdy. But, some people (who may be tight or otherwise sensitive) enjoy the softer ones. This one is top of the line material and has an instructional DVD which is sometimes useful. We have one of these at my studio and they are one of the favorites as well.
It really all depends on her body. If she is used to her old foam roller that's probably worse for wear now, transitioning to a highly dense roller (like the first one I linked to) may be uncomfortable. I personally believe in moving up into different levels and finding what best suits my needs.
I would suggest going with a less dense one to see how she feels with it. Sorry that I'm not of much assistance but everybody is different and even in a class of advanced pilates students, everyone has their own preference of what roller fits their body and needs best.
