1) over the door mesh shoe racks also work great for storing loads of winter gloves, hats, scarves, ear muffs, umbrella, dog brushes, dog leash.... (At least that's what's in mine!)

2) An extending hanger bar, like this one. If you can spare room near the floor, this works great to double your hanging space. I also used one for my daughter, who wanted to pick her own clothes since she was 2. This made it easy for her to reach her things!

3) wire shelves for your cupboards, about 6 inches tall. Utilize that space above your plates by stacking other dishes on these shelves, while still allowing easy access to the items beneath.

4) a lazy Susan for your canned goods. I don't buy those things in bulk, but I need to see what I have. This has been the perfect solution for me.
