Urgent! Please, I've added this ram sticks in my cart for long now, because I want to buy it along with a Ryzen 7 4800H laptop. I will be doing the purchase tomorrow but coming across this post you made, made me skeptical. Can this Crucial ram run at 3,200MHz speed without needing the XMP profiles:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C4X9VR5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_A0AEFbZ3DS826
Most responses to questions under the Q&A section claimed that the ram is a JEDEC profile just like you have talked about. But any further information would be helpful before I make purchase.
Thank you.
Thanks for this post, tbh several things went above my head, so I'll just ask which of these 2 rams are BETTER and MOST RECOMMENDED for Lenovo Legion 5.
Laptop variant: 15ARH05H
Crucial RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) DDR4 3200 MHz CL22 Laptop Memory CT2K16G4SFRA32A%2BDDR4%2B3200%2BMT%2Fs%2B(PC4-25600)%2BSODIMM%2B260-Pin%2BMemory%2B-%2BCT2K16G4SFRA32A&qid=1608884146&sr=8-1&th=1)
HyperX Impact 3200MHz DDR4 CL20 SODIMM (Kit of 2) HX432S20IB2K2/32, 32GB kit (2 x 16GB)
Thanks a lot.
The ram you posted looks like 1rx8. The rule of thumb is: if it doesn't explicitly specify dual-rank, it is more than likely single-rank. The same goes for this one from Crucial. The only one I've seen that guarantee dual-rank are the CT2K16G4SFD832A model and Timetec ones.
Just to follow up on the Crucial Ram. Just installed it today. From what I understand, you take the value that CPU-Z shows, and double it to get the value its running at?
CPU-Z shows DRAM and NB Frequency as 1596.8 MHz. So double is 3183.6 which I assume is rounded up to 3200 MHz. So full speed I think? Success?!?! I think!
I'd be happy to run any benchmarks or anything if you'd like. Just don't know hat to run
here's what I got

you can go higher, ex. if youre motherboard supports it. but theyre usually 2666mhz u can get the 3200mhz... but if ur motherboard only supports 2666 speeds, theres no point. the 3200mhz sticks will just max at that 2666... and compatibility, for yours, its probably like mine. DDR4 288pin SODIMMs . i just bought the 2-32gb (64gb overkill i know) ram sticks from crucial . they been fine for me. heres a link to amazon of what i bought.. an theres alot of choices... https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-2x16GB-Laptop-Memory-CT2K16G4SFRA32A-dp-B07ZLCVKPV/dp/B08C4X9VR5/ref=dp\_ob\_title\_ce?th=1

Here is what Crucial recommended and I went with.
If it doesn't work, I plan to order this next. This one should work, correct? https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-PC4-25600-SODIMM-260-Pin-Memory/dp/B08C4X9VR5?th=1
Do you think the crucial here would work? Only interested for the price difference.

Not sure about Single vs Dual Rank vs the one option that doesn't even say!?
