I recommend this. Bland it is not, with multi-faceted characters who're individuals each with their own thoughts and agendas. As a seasoned reader you will be familiar with the tropes, but keep at it - they're being set up to be undermined, and with the unreliable narrators it's a complex 3-dimensional read. And if that doesn't do it for you, there's plenty of pew-pew and explosions galore.
