If you’re only using it for thunderbolt, get this. it’s certified, so they’re not fucking the implementation up. i wouldn’t trust anything uncertified.
The M34WQ can certianly handle this. I purchased this one from Amazon and am able to achieve 144hz on my M1 Mac Mini. Just make sure to disable the setting "USB C Compatability" for the refresh to achieve 144hz though... took me a few days to figure that out.
No, sadly, it's not just an ordinary cable. You have to pay premium for this one. Especially if you want a longer one. I made a mistake twice purchasing a bit cheaper TB3 cable, then TB4 cable (without official intel certification) and I ended up with intel certified cable (2m long cable matters) and only that one worked without issues.

This is the cable I have: www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-107022-Computer-Cables/dp/B084Z65YJQ/
Hmmm well this cable matters Thunderbolt 4 cable seems to work, booted up and the DP monitor works….. but idk if I want to pop 59$ for that… (it’s 6 feet which is cool buuut the 59$ is a turn off)
