I use two lights up front. First is a Cateye HL-EL135N that during the day I have set to solid, and at night I have set to blink. At night I also run a cheapo Schwinn Snake Light near the fork crown set on full so oncoming motorists have something solid to gauge distance with. It also works as a decent backup in case the AAs in the CatEye shit themselves. The CatEyes mount is a bit fragile, I busted mine when I wiped out on a speed bump a few months back, but I used some Sugru to mend it, it still works fine, only time it's let me down is the last super cold day I rode home from work and the temp killed the batteries (which were old tired Amazon Basics AAs anyways).
You can get the Snake Eyes on Amazon Prime Now if you're ever at an address within the delivery area (judging from your vlogs you're definitely within the Prime Now area for Chicago at least once during the day). They also have a cheapo $8 set of front and rear lights (BV brand) that I actually used for my main lights for a while until I broke the front light off its mount (I think I was bringing it up my apartment stairs and hit the wall) The CatEye I mentioned above is also available on Prime Now. That's if you have Prime though.
Now that I think about it I get a load of my cycling gear off of Prime Now. Chain tools, shorts, water bottles, lights, tubes, they got it all. I even think I got my crank puller Park Tool from Prime Now.
I get a lot of shit from Prime Now lol.
To be honest, unless you're going to run an expensive dynamo light up front, expensive lights are a fucking ripoff. If it mounts to the handlebars, its a matter of time before someone steals it or it gets knocked off, and their light beams are all pretty shit anyways. LEDs are LEDs, I don't need to spend a crap ton of money on something that I'm not really using to see with, just to be seen with. I also don't buy all that crap about buying some 8000000 lumen monster for $80 that'll just dazzle the fuck out of everyone.
