when i needed to boost the length of the hdmi cord for my oculus i used a powered Repeater

non powered ones might get you a little range, but if you really need a long distance on that cable then you need powered repeater which arent necessarily the easiest to find but i did on amazon when i bought mine. just took some searching

before you start cutting holes in things, consider this issue :)

edit: by long distance for me the signal was cutting out at just 14 ft cable length, and unpowered repeater would constantly lose signal. 14 ft is pretty short

the other option is ofcourse to use a Wireless HDMI extender.
