A guy I worked with had bad bodily injuries from years of programming. He had a low chair with nice arm rests he had mounted two mouse pad size boards onto.

On the left board he used a half-keyboard. On the right board he had a Wacom tablet and used the mouse accessory for it.

This allowed him to sit in the chair and rest his arms comfortably on the arm rests and still have complete control of the PC without having to move his arms.

The half keyboard used modifier keys to allow you to use all the keys with one hand.

Here is the one I believe he used and it worked well for him after some adjustment.

The thing seems ridiculously priced at near $555 but my co-worker swore by it. It allowed him to continue to work on a computer even with such bad health issues from using a computer. I suppose the price is worth it if it allows you to work without damaging your health further.

If you have trouble gripping a normal mouse have you tried a "vertical mouse"? They allow for mousing with your hand/wrist in a vertical position.

Here is an example: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00427TAIK

Edit: On a more personal note I developed my own elbow tingling that would migrate to my pinky and last a week or so.

I found using a Ergo bead keyboard "snake" to help my palm of my left (keyboard) hand and an Ergo bead wrist rest that I use to place my left elbow in helped eliminate tingling.

As for my right hand I use a very flat mouse pad and a hand towel folded in half to rest my right arm on. This allows my arm to move/slide a good bit and not to "stick" to my desktop which I think caused me to use my wrist more than I needed.

With the towel under my right arm I can use my whole arm to make larger movements rather than my wrist.

Since I've been more cognizant about not letting my elbows rest directly on the desk (and in the case of my left "keyboard" arm allowing it to rest comfortably about 1/2 an inch off the desk due the two ergo bead "pillows") the tingling hasn't returned.

Edit 2: I should mention that I have my keyboard and mouse placed so that I can safely rest my whole arms on the desk. Not sure if this is "ergonomically sound" but this is what works for me.

Also I only use the far left edge of the ergo bead "snake" and I flatten it out a lot so my left palm can rest on it at a slight side angle.

I also decided to add a picture of my desk so that you can get an idea of how I have it set up.

Again this is just what has worked for me. I'm fairly young but I do log many hours on he computer and really need to be more cognizant of my body. I'd hate to end up like the co-worker I mentioned.

Good luck in your search. Try things. Throw out what doesn't work. Keep what does. Be aware of what your body is telling you.
