That is one of the generic "DIY" videos, but its really just a on off switch, motor, and battery, so not really a lot of engagement.
Now if you got yourself a variety of gears to go along with it, so the kids could figure out how gear ratios work and stuff, and made them try to make their cars go past an obstacle course in which they need the right combinations for the car to be able to make it up ramps,etc., then yeah that could turn out a lot more interesting.
