The price difference you are seeing (presumably on amazon between here and here is due to the fact that nvidia changed the design slightly with the new K1 model. This new cover has a shinier outside finish that the old one did, which was a very dull matte. Other than that, they are identical. The MSRP has always been 40 bucks. Amazon sellers like to gouge shit out of stuff thats no longer being produced.

The new model will work just fine.

edit -- That being said, i own two original LTE tablets. One with an original cover and one with a fintie cover. i have had zero problems with either of them, which surprised me since the fintie was only seven bucks. If 40 bones is still too steep, go with a fintie -also easily found on amazon.
