Depending on how much you want to spend on a new iron will determine what is best for you, but it seems you want a sub $100 from the TS100 option given. For a portable iron I would say get a Pinecil V2 iron (https://pine64.com/product/pinecil-smart-mini-portable-soldering-iron/) as it is open-source software and gets updates from the community (back in stock Sept 15th but sells out quickly right now). If you want a station the I have heard good things about KSGER like this (https://www.amazon.com/KSGER-Temperature-Controller-Electronic-Equipments/dp/B07PYFSCJ9/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?)). If you have a little higher budget, then you can get a Hakko.

For the solder I really like Kester but it costs more. For diameter .6 or .8 are good for general work with some SMD as well. I would get 3.3% rosin version as it helps without the need of extra flux for most activities. MG Chemical is pretty good and know some people use it.

It's well made and from a reputable company, however if it were me I would go for one of the cheap Chinese T12 soldering stations.

The build quality isn't going to be as good, but the temperature control will be better due to how the T12 tips work compared with more traditional irons. I've been using one of the KSGER ones for years without any issues and swap out tips often depending on the job.
