I have this one coming next Tuesday https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M7SSTXL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_mgLNEbN28YFCF but I'd love to know more about your setup. I got one of these as a Christmas gift from my wife https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QR6Z1JB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_njLNEbYZH6YJK I feel like I'm just scratching the surface.

Hi. The JTech digital audio extractor is for getting the sound out of an HDMI signal, in other words a video signal such as from a PC or a Blu-Ray player. What you need to get the sound of the Volca Drum into the PC is an audio interface. There are lots of choices available, and the price generally depends on how many inputs the interface has, in other words, how many instruments you want to connect through it. A basic audio interface would be something like this or this.

Would this one work? Sorry to bring this back almost a month later, just don’t want to spend $100 on the wrong thing..

A standard USB audio interface should do the trick, like the Scarlett Solo: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QR6Z1JB?ref=emc_p_m_5_i

You'll also need an appropriate cable to go from the RCA outputs of your phono preamp to the 1/4" jack on the Scarlett.

FL Studio isn't the best DAW for live audio but it can be done. I did a live small show some years back and I did it with FL Studio. An audio interface is an analog to digital converter and looks like this https://www.amazon.com/Focusrite-Scarlett-Audio-Interface-Tools/dp/B07QR6Z1JB. You are able to connect your computer to external speakers that way. Make sure the speakers are compatible with your audio interface. Then, make sure the latency settings in FL studio are low enough so you won't experience sound glitches from FL Studio. Then you can play all your effects. Should work from there. On a side note, I hear Ableton is a better choice for live audio but that's up to you.

Honestly, a simple xlr condenser mic off Amazon can do the trick. You need an interface as well to get it to work with your computer, but you can also find some inexpensive usb mics on there as well.

Condenser Mic: here

Interface: here

USB mic: here

Both mics produce really clear and crisp sound if you learn how to use them, and the interface is a common one used among a lot of “at home” VOs.

You only need the interface if you want to use the XLR mic.
