But like other commenters said, blankets will be better for removing noise. You can see the way the tiles are shaped that they are designed to reflect noise to the sides. The idea being that it reflects and bounces around the room eventually losing power as the sound wave travels a longer distance.
The blankets act like more of an absorber, physically absorbing the energy and not reflecting it around the room. You can use those sound blankets or moving blankets do the trick as well. The sound ones are nice because they have the grommets built in to hang them, but I've just nailed mine to the wall or ceiling.
