I'm aware of what ANT+ is. However, most straps are made by the same factory. This rationale is not based on the fact that they are ANT+, but that they all share undeniably similar characteristics. They all have very similar builds with the snaps, the same or similar straps, and I've mixed and matched straps and units with 100% success. I'm not saying every strap is, however every one I've owned has been, and many of the soft straps on the market are. So basically what happened is a Chinese factory designed the Ant+ tech for one strap, then offered it to companies for rebranding and redistribution. Why bother designing your own when you can just get them made no problem? For all I know it was ANT+/ Dynastream Innovations that did this. However I've seen the same hardware used for Bluetooth straps too.
Given that the Motorola unit is literally the same thing as the Garmin unit but with Motorola plastic bit on it instead of a Garmin one, you are incorrect.
Do a little googling and you will find that this is the case.
See the similarities?
