I use these 10ml syringes, these 18g needles, and these syringe caps.

When I make liquid culture syringes, I don't use injection ports or tilt the jar at all; I just open it and pull as much mycelium as I can into the syringe. I treat the jar like an agar dish and do my best not to reach directly over it or keep it open longer than necessary.

These are cheaper and have worked great for me so far.
