I ended up sending my 980 pro into Samsung repair center specifically so they could flash the firmware for me. Samsung gave me a prepaid shipping label with UPS, it took 2 days to get there, the next day Samsung called me to confirm they flashed the firmware and sent it back out the following day.
Thanks u/nachodogmtl. I'm updating the post with more pictures. It looks like I need a mounting kit for the NVMe to stand in place. Another option is to get a PCIe adaptor that I can put next to the Nvidia graphics card.
