They're a bit big, but that makes it easier for us amateurs to fit the lines in the cover.
It doesn't like 1/2 bad on the side of my house. Don't have a great pic on my phone but here is a mediocre example, from before I finished cleaning up the end of the install.
PS: Strongly recommend you put the thing on the ground, not wall-mount. Wall mount sucks. 1 of my outdoor units is wall mounted. 2 are ground mounted on pavers. The wall mount transmits vibration into our home. Vibration damping bushings have improved the situation, but I can still hear it. At some point I'll probably try and modify it so it is ground mounted.
The ground mounted units are *silent*.
