one of the RYW cables like this[1] and that should take the audio and video feed from the cable box and display it on the AV input on your tv.
My cable box has an output labeled "AV" and it's a single "hole"(male?), which, in the cable box instructions "what's in the box" shows a mini to rca(one output to 3 inputs, which by the way is where my DVD player input is right now(AV input)) would fit.
Actually my problem is a little more: I want to record OTA programs on my stand alone DVR while watching cable or OTA, or record a cable program while watching OTA, without connecting and disconnecting cables.
If you are talking about the cable you linked in the OP, I don't think there is a name other than "3.5mm to RCA".
Right, yeah, that's it. So that "should" work. I have cables that are 1 to 1 males from old VCRs, and plugging in one to the cable box is very loose, but gives me a picture plugging in at the DVR L1 "Video" input, but not connected to sound. So if I have 1 to 3, I hope that would work.
Does your DVD player have Component ports(Red, Green, Blue) by chance?
Only as an output. The back is the second picture to select on this page
