I just tried this Tonkotsu concentrate I stumbled across on Amazon and I thought it was quite good - definitely had some amount of fatty thickness. I used the noodles and black garlic from a Nissin Tonkotsu pack. It's a bit pricey, but it's all relative, right? I bought a ten pack (and have Prime so no shipping cost), but saw that they have 20s and 30s and 40s and 50s as well, and the price goes down accordingly to as low as $1.10ish a packet.

Definitely worth a try to see if you like it as it's quite different from powder packets - it's "gloopy".

I have no connections to any of these except as a happy slurper:

  • Hakubaku fresh ramen and Tonkotsu liquid broth concentrate. Here is one brand of concentrate and here is another. Both have very similar flavors, but the latter only seems to be sold as a 20-pack or larger. Neither concentrate needs to be frozen/refrigerated. The noodle is shelf-stable and needs no refrigeration/freezing, but the "best-by" date is typically within six months. Amazon also sells these noodles, but often sells out.

  • Sun noodle ramen. Needs to be refrigerated/frozen.

  • Myojo ramen. Found in asian stores (I don't know of any place that sells it online). Needs to be refrigerated/frozen.

  • If you have a brick-and-mortar Costco near you, they often have Sapporo Ichiban Momosan Chicken Ramen for around $11 for a 10-pack (box looks like this). These are out in the aisles and are not refrigerated/frozen. The noodles are non-fried (dried, I believe). Note that Sapporo Ichiban makes a variety of ramen, and you want the packages labeled with "Momosan". While amazon also has this, the price is a lot higher and is not worth it, IMO (IIRC, it's around double the Costco price).

This is the broth I bought https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K69ZK46/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_LWhhBbJ5CRSQM

It took forever to get here but man was it worth it. Used noodles bought from the Asian store, some nori, pork belly, soft boiled egg, Maggi hot sauce, sriracha chili sauce and some sesame seeds.
