oh but the csl dd takes power from a seprate psu right, or do all the components just take that much power to run?
or is it better to get one with less ports?

Video would work for a minute or so then cut out. Headset light will then blink. I could hear audio too. Then I would get an error pop up in Windows saying the display cable was unplugged. I would unplug everything and plug it back in and i would get a picture an the same thing would happen again. I had the headset plugged into a usb 3.1 port on my motherboard and a usb 3.0 port on my pci card and no change. Bought this and it resolved my issue. I thought it was a cord issue too but read somewhere that a powered hub would fix the issue and it did. If it doesnt you can always return it.
Also u/Jealentuss many people have been able to get the headset working with the V1 cable by running through an active USB hub. They can be found on Amazon in the US for around $20.

Could be something to try before buying a V2 cable out right. You may also want to open a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I remember reading about someone getting the run around from HP support until they got BBB involved and then all of a sudden everything was fine an HP took care of em.
I'm using this one that has selectable powered slots that I bought on Amazon:
I mounted it using double-sided tape and I can switch the USB key that I am using in the ALU by switching on only the power for the one that I want to use. Right now I have one 128GB key with the V5 COINOPS Arcade and a 256GB one that barely holds all of the console COINSOPS games.
