I know I'm way late to the party, but I just discovered this subreddit and randomly found this. Don't know if you still need it, but I figured I could hand out some help since it looks like nobody flutes around here...
Anyway, you're just starting out and playing the Chaminade? Damn. Off the top of my head, I can't think of specific exercises from books, but in general, I'd check out the following, I generally recommend them (increasing difficulty):
# - Berbiguier's etudes range in difficulty very widely, from not too bad to fuuuuuuuck.
Those are only a few that I like, but you're safe with the Andersens (sheet music online for free if you're okay with grainy music) and Koehlers (Op. 33, 66, 93 NOT 75). The Altes and Karg-Elert are probably too difficult right now, but are fantastic books.
In regards to a flute "bible", different people recommend different things, because there are so many resources for flute. The Trevor Wye Practice Books are fantastic. As you progress, the Taffanel-Gaubert - 17 Daily Exercises and the Marcel Moyse - De La Sonorite are ABSOLUTE must-haves. Other Moyse etudes, studies, etc. are also great.
Wow, that ended up being incredibly long. PM me if you have any questions ever on flute-related issues!
