Should do fine for the Osmo Pocket, you don't have that much weight to carry. Be careful in high winds though, you may want to anchor it with a backpack or someting to keep it from tipping over.
I've built something similar using point-to-point Wifi gear. It kinda sucks having to align to line up two antennae but you get much better range.
I am using Ubiquiti Networks (http://www.ubnt.com/) equipment used in long haul Wireless ISPs. This equipment is inexpensive and uses standard technology: Power-Over-Ethernet (POE), Wifi, so it's easy to tweak.
I'm using a 9 amp-hour battery and current draw is ~0.6 amps so that comes out 10 hours or so. It would be trivial to tack on a Solar panel or bigger battery. The charge controller takes POE as an input so it's easy to recharge the battery.
Here are a couple pics:

I'm currently using this holder. It's a little cheap but it holds the phone firmly and I only paid $1 for it. Dollar Tree sells $1 selfie sticks with that exact mount. You just unscrew it from the stick and screw it onto your tripod!
I'm using it back and forth between a small table-top tripod that I have had for years (similar to this one) and a bigger one that I borrowed from a family member.
I'm going to pick up a tripod of my own soon (this one most likely) as well as an ND filter and maybe a fisheye lens to play with.
Hi, I would avoid that scope if I were you, it's liable to turn you off astronomy more than pull you into it.
The most affordable worthwhile scope out there at the moment (imho) is the AWB Onesky.
If your budget doesn't amount to that much, I would recommend finding either a pair of decent 10x50 binoculars attached to a cheap tripod with a Barska Adapter
Alternatively you might be able to find a used 4 or 6" dobsonian for under $150.
The best beginners book on backyard astronomy is definitely Nightwatch, and it should be followed by the more in depth Turn Left at Orion
Hope that helps!
Any general tripod will have the same thread size as the Minolta. It's generally nice to get a tripod with a detachable head, so you can leave it on the camera and just clip the camera into the tripod without screwing it in every time.
This is barebones but would work: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-60-Inch-Lightweight-Tripod-Bag/dp/B005KP473Q/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=camera+tripod&qid=1595059257&sr=8-3
The amazon page you linked says they are often purchased with this tripod https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-60-Inch-Lightweight-Tripod-Bag/dp/B005KP473Q/ref=pd_aw_fbt_img_3/138-1097790-8451639?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B005KP473Q&pd_rd_r=38f2bcdf-cde2-4182-9c4f-524a21462aea&pd_rd_w=REw8H&pd_rd_wg=bE1Uw&pf_rd_p=b7c0c74c-d9cb-44de-9201-48f1442aab87&pf_rd_r=XVJEMN21SB7SGYHQ91JB&psc=1&refRID=XVJEMN21SB7SGYHQ91JB
Might be worth just buying...returns on Amazon are super easy if it doesn't work out.
Yep, simple.
I use a C920 with a full-sized tripod. You definitely need auto-focus, and even then showing my ID is the hardest part of any assessment.
Solitude is a must! Even for studying, small distractions can be devastating to my focus. Also, it took me far too long to figure out that zooming the browser page would let me read comfortably without hunching forward toward my screen. Posture is important!
Spot on. Your mentor might be cautious about accelerating you at first, but just keep demonstrating your resolve and ability and they'll soon be in your corner.
Looks like a threaded bolt with a threaded knob you can tighten by hand goes there. If you don't have it, take it to a hardware store and find the largest machine screw that fits through the assembly and still allows the head to be held in the capture hole. Then put a wingnut on the other end so you can tighten by hand. A threaded rod with a washer and a wingnut on each end is another alternative if the hole where the bolt head is recessed causes problems or the machine screw spins when you try to tighten it.
Unless it broke, I don't know why someone would remove that. As for hardware stores, Home Depot and Lowes have stuff, but if you have an ACE hardware, those people will work to help you find the best solution.

Any basic tripod like these will work. The issue comes with lighting conditions. You need to basically make the play area have no shadows. SCG uses a PVC setup that just hangs over the table and with light to cancel the shadows.
