As for wires, there's not really a kit that I've seen. When I started out I had already heard that it takes some practice to get it going. So I saw these cheap, small rolls of colored wire at Wal-Mart for $1. They only came in 18 and 16 guage but I got a couple to practice with before I moved into copper, brass, and eventually silver. I still am not able to afford gold. The most used gauges that I started with was 20, 22, 24, and 28.

Here's a youtube video of some beginner techniques: https://youtu.be/uDBUMqUnco4

Also, you need to get quality tools. The ones from Wal-Mart crafting area will not hold up. I know because I've broken a couple of their sets on copper wire and the ones in hardware section are too big for this delicate work. I ordered my set off Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0785PDJZ7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_yp79Db5K8Z7F2

And later if you want to make rings you'll want a ring mandrel https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N8W1NFT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_4r79DbDAT9KKF

As for things to wrap, you can start with simple stones (my daughter constantly brings little rocks she thinks are cool and I end up making something with them) or you can buy some on Etsy, Amazon, or, if you read the reviews and have a sense of adventure (and are willing to wait a month for shipping) Wish.

Remember to keep practicing and not to give up. You'll find that even with the tutorials you will eventually start to have your own unique style. Just roll with it. Before you know it you will be looking at a finished piece thinking, "Did I really just make this?!?"
