Condenser mic was considered, but since i'm not giving lectures in the same classroom every time, i wanted something more portable. I know most condenser mics are mounted and plus i just would prefer to not be holding it as i move around. As for the mask, that's just the school's rules as we're not operating in the same lecture hall every time. The PC just has a standard headphone aux input, and then a couple of USB's. Nothing fancy at all. Sounds like maybe the ones i was looking at with just the TRRS are maybe not as preferrable to ones that have USB connectors instead, right? this looks like it might do the job? https://www.amazon.com/Movo-Microphone-Compatible-Smartphones-Podcasting/dp/B086D439F8/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=1Q7TVB3NM0RI1&dchild=1&keywords=lavalier+microphone+usb&qid=1597154794&sprefix=lavalier%2Caps%2C176&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyQlkyNjlSWFFIRjQwJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwOTY2NzEzMk1URDQ4QTBWQkpJWCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNTkzOTA5MzNRMVpWQlI1ODlHSyZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=
Not OP but thanks for such an informative comment. However, I’m now worried I’ll be lacking in the sound department.
I’m gearing up to make a short film on my iPhone 11 Pro. I purchased a shotgun mic from Amazon which will plug into the filming iPhone and then I plan to put a lav on each of my two actors (capturing dialogue audio onto their own iPhones).
What do you think of this setup?
This is the shotgun mic by the way:
