The bands I had that were like the ones in your link broke quickly. They wore out around the metal attachment area. After that I switched to the "plugged" type which have not broken yet. It's been almost two years.
For the pull ups I had a hard time getting enough resistance in one band, so I bought a set of handles that have three spots for bands, like this. They allow me to adjust the resistance to a much higher level by adding bands, and the bands stay nice and evenly spaced.
