So I, along with many other people, I am planning on going to and photographing the August eclipse. I have been reading up and I realized that my current 55-300 Nikkor (Edit: On my Nikon D5100) lens wont be enough to get the pictures I want. I was curious what my options are to increase my zoom range. I am willing to spend $200 or so, but less would be better considering I still have to buy a solar filter (Any recommendations? At a loss for what I should get here as well. This is what I was looking at)
Should I get a 2x teleconverter? In which case which should I get?
Or would it just be easier to get a telephoto lens such as This. The only thing about this is I don't know how decent the quality would be and much less if I'd ever use it again after August 21st.
