I have a larger Govee and like it. They also have a two pack of these for $13.99. They're about 1/2" larger than the one listed above, but you get the added benefit of a digital display if you want it. These are a new product that I saw available for a couple of days earlier in the month, and the next batch is apparently shipping in early October.
basically like, everything. You should look through this welcome post, that's got a lot of really important info.
I'm no expert so someone else may give you better answers and potentially correct me on some things but here's what I got throughout my research before getting my girl (and a lot of this info is straight from this sub's care guide, which i linked above). Again, i highly recommend just going through all the resources i linked above, but here's my rundown:
- Make sure your temps are good before bringing the snake home (Warm side: 88F-92F / 31C-33C, Cool side: 76F-80F / 24C-26C)
- Make sure you have proper bedding (not aspen) that can handle high humidity (60-70%, 80% for shedding)
- Make sure you have good heating (halogen flood bulbs are good heat sources with lighting, avoid red light at night, CHE or DHP are good. Avoid under tank heating mats. ALWAYS use a thermostat.
- avoid those analog thermometers that stick to the side of the tank. I personally use these govee thermometers/hygrometers, but any non-sticky digital thermometer/hygrometers will do. Get one for the cool side and hot side of the tank.
- Make sure you have a lot of cover to allow the snake to feel hidden at all times if they choose to
- Minimum of 2 hides, one for cool side, one for hot side
- water bowl big enough to soak in
- you dont need a tank for an adult right away (4x2x2 ft is good for adult) but there is absolutely no harm in doing so, provided you give the animal enough coverage in hides, foliage, etc. Good rule of thumb is to have enough length along two sides for the snake to fully stretch out. Honestly just easier if you get big tank right from the start so you don't have to worry about measuring and upgrading later. Your call though.
- avoid handling until they have accepted 2-3 meals from you to let them settle in. I waited until 2, some say to wait until 3, depends on how the snake is settling in i guess.
- for food, feed by weight, and frozen/thawed is always better than live. For a young bp i usually see the rats being between 12-15% of the snakes body weight, i would double check this in the care guide.
That's about everything i can think of! Most important thing is to make sure you have the tank setup BEFORE you bring the snake home, I can't stress that enough. You might need to add more insulation to keep in heat, or you might need to seal the corners/edges with animal safe silicon, you might need to figure out how to keep humidity in, etc. Best to figure that out before the animal has to live in it!
edit: fixed formatting issues and added the thermostat/thermometer bit
There are wifi thermometers available on Amazon. I have these, they work well.

Kind of expensive now, they were about $10 cheaper when I bought them a year ago.
