I haven’t done it in a doctor’s office, but I mentioned I was doing this at-home treatment to my urologist, and he thought it was a great idea. Here’s what I use to guide me: TENS placement article I use a very basic TENS unit I bought on Amazon: TENS unit Hope that helps!
13 weeks post-op and my PT has been using this on me lately while icing to help bring down some swelling and alleviate pain. I ended up picking one up since my clinic closed last week and it's actually pretty powerful. I was impressed. I got this TENS 7000 unit off amazon and so far it's helped with alleviating my pain after home workouts.
I ordered this one just now. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NCRE4GO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Guess I'll try it out, what do i have to lose?
TENS 7000 2nd Edition Digital TENS Unit with Accessories
My spouse is a former NFL athletic trainer turned Neuromodulation Clinical Specialist for one of the major spinal cord stimulator companies, so very picky when it comes to devices and knowledgeable about wavelengths and such. We have a few different TENS units, but we ONLY reach for this one because of the ability to fine-tune in the hertz. (I think that's what they're called. I'm the clueless one in the family!)
Here is the one I bought.
I'll post what I used since a lot of folks have been messaging me.
I'm using this standard tens machine:
These are the only two websites I was ever able to find that sell double-electrode tVNS ear clips, which seem to be the easiest and best for our uses. I think because it hasn't caught on too much outside of the clinical context. (I bought the second one, they were a little loose so I superglued them to the TENS machine wires):

imo it seems to help quite a lot. often after only a couple minutes of using you can hear your stomach growling which I think is a sign of them working. I am negative now and have moved on to gut repair where I'm also seeing success.

Amazon has them for $28. Just get some extra pads and some 9v batteries.

I bought this one. It is easy to learn how to use. I use it about every other night. At first it is a strange sensation, but after a couple of sessions it is like a fantastic deep tissue massage.
