Since the 7X has 2D edged screen, if you go with a completely clear protector you will have visible sticking issues on the edges. As in, not sticking to the edges. It's much more visible with a clear protector. The protectors with the black edges do a good job at hiding this. I've had excellent luck with Setber branded ones on Amazon.
