For general stuff, I usually go with the aitoh 500 packs because they're easily available to me. They're a nice, stable brand for basic kami and they're usually pretty good about the weights and textures being even. I find even in higher humidity conditions, the paper is tolerably even.

It's a really good basic paper for practicing, folding lots of modules, sharing, traveling with, etc. There's a good variety of colors, though I do find that some (like bright yellow or dark blue) can have a little bit of rub-off if you work them a lot or have slightly moist fingers.

I usually buy this listing, though. It seems like it's the same stuff, just cheaper.
