Your best bet is to have a family member or friend order one on amazon and have it shipped to you: they are 1/2 the cost and work in more regions than just the Middle East.

When I was there the guys tried to sell me a base model for $150 when I got the upgraded version for $90. Not to mention you can use it if/when you travel to another country. Bonus points on replacing the battery when the time comes vs one with an internal integrated battery

Now I just need to read up and see what bands Japans carriers use.
