Nice! Well, I think the Mehron kit is a pretty good start and a good way to get varied materials for a beginner. Mehron is a company that's been around for a long time and has some solid products (I really like their barrier spray). The kit might give you pretty small amounts of stuff, but that's great for a beginner.

I'll give a couple more professional items that I think she would be really into:

3rd Degree - I use it allllll the time. Great for out of kit effects--bullet wounds, scars, moles--super versatile. I'm using it on Monday for a short film about eyelid surgery and again on Thursday to make some small fairy ears on a model. A little pricey, but a little goes a looooooong way. You could get the 2 oz. in clear--she can actually tint it with powders or any silicone-based foundation--or alcohol paints, which I don't think she has. PLEASE NOTE make sure your daughter knows not to mix the product or double dip the A into the B!!!!! It will ruin the whole container. Use SEPARATE knives in each pot and DON'T mix the lids up! Very important!

orange stipple sponge - It looks like the kit comes with one, but if you don't get the kit, this is good to have. Tell her she can cut it into rounded edges and clean with 99% alcohol.

Skin illustrator On Set Palette. This is a small version and on sale. The FX one is good because it has all the primary colors and black and white, so she could conceivably make any color.

Isopropyl Alcohol/99% Alcohol - get a cheap little spray bottle and fill it. Can be used to sanitize, clean up, also the alcohol palette can ONLY be activated with 99% alcohol (not 91%...not 70% et cetera).

Palette Knives. I tried to find a set that is flexible. I haven't used this particular set before. I get mine at an art store--like $5-7 for one because for me the more flexible, the better (for me, anyway). Please note, there are LOADS of different types of palette knives. I use lots, depending on the job, but these are inexpensive and a good start.

Steel Palettes Essential.

Cheap Brush Set For FX, there is no sense spending a lot on brushes that will probably get destroyed with glue or grease paint.

I see that the kit has spirit gum, which is a cheap, old school adhesive. Works fine, but if she's really into it, Pros aide is the shit. They have a remover, but Isopropyl Myristate is cheaper and works well, too. PLEASE NOTE: If you get Isopropyl Myristate (IPM), make sure she knows not to mix wet 99% Alcohol with IPM--it will burn.

Also, if you get that Mehron set with that head, I think that grease paint (with a lot of pigment) will stain that head. Make sure she uses hair spray or a barrier spray before painting.

I could keep going, but I'll stop! Have fun--whatever you get her, she'll love.
