bluetooth remote is a must in my opinion. This is the one I have: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TS7TQ8J
I primarily use text to speech.
While commuting, I have my laptop open next to me and I listen to the cards while using the remote to click through them - no need to look at the screen. If there's a card that isn't enunciated well in TTS, then I'll have to glance at the screen, but this is pretty rare.
While walking outside for exercise (I study better while pacing outside with fresh air), I have my laptop open in tablet mode (a 2-in-1 laptop) that I keep in my backpack, connected to bluetooth earbuds and remote. If you want the option to look at the screen occasionally as well, you can use an app like SuperDisplay on your phone and connect your phone to your laptop via usb-usbc cable to have the laptop's display show up on your phone. This + a phone arm band looks a little wonky but it gets the job done.
Why not use ankidroid? Everything always feels messed up on ankidroid and I've just gotten so used to my bluetooth remote + laptop combo that it's preferable to go through the extra setup trouble to use it.
