Thanks for the reply. And which kit are you talking about? I am willing to buy this kit which is only $33 and comes with a moon filter but I don't know enough about telescopes yet to determine whether the eye pieces it comes with are an upgrade from what i already have. The case itself is not to shabby either.
Don't expect million dollar views with your telescope however. Even under the best conditions most deep sky objects will look like green or smokey gray blobs.
I figured as much, I am fully aware that I won't being viewing some NASA quality photos, in fact all I want is to see more stars and craters on the moon and hopefully Jupiter and Saturn. But I just want to know if for the money the scope itself is trash or not.
Also nevermind I realized you probably mean this kit yea way too expensive, cost almost as much as my scope. But yea that case is dope.
EDIT: Hmmm maybe i wont even see craters on the moon which would be a bit disappointing.
Okay I went with the XT8, this is the kit you recommended. You'd recommend that one over this one?
Cool, thanks!
#1. Awesome!
#2. Added, appreciate it.
#3. So the ASI183MC *appears* to be far superior to the ASI224MC. As IMO all it is doing is capturing the image, I would think higher resolution/capabilities = better. Am I missing something?
#4. Thanks, I was wondering about those. I'll add them, as most of my back yard is rock/concrete and I'm pretty sure none of it would work inside the pool!
#5. I'm in Dallas, so its not really that humid, though it is occasionally. I'll go ahead and get this: https://www.amazon.com/Celestron-Aluminum-Telescope-Cassegrain-telescopes/dp/B09MZKZ2ZZ/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1WNJX4UXFOXKM&keywords=celestron+dew+shield+8se&qid=1677540858&s=electronics&sprefix=celestron+dew+shield+8se%2Celectronics%2C84&sr=1-3&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.08f69ac3-fd3d-4b88-bca2-8997e41410bb
#7. Got lots of those.
I added a prisim thing:
What kinda televue and what do they do? A few options here, with a large price gap:
Not sure about the Takahashi eyepiece. What do they do, and should I jsut get a set like this? https://www.firstlightoptics.com/takahashi-eyepieces/takahashi-le-eyepieces.html
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I know I'm overdoing it. Yes, I know I'm probably buying a couple things i'll never use (was hoping ya'll would "enlighten" me to that). Yes, I know I'm blowing a large chunk of cash to some people. Just trying to start off and not be frustrated by what I see. I'm used to being frustrated by equipment/electronics/software :D
