It's great -- it has reconfigurable velcro dividers, perfect for different sized decks. Costs $33. The Professor at Tolarian Community College reviewed it here, that's how I got turned onto it.
Looks like the price has gone up a few dollars but still solid for what you get. https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Backpack-DSLR-Cameras-Accessories/dp/B002VPE1WK
I think what I might do is maybe make a park-throwaway montage, but keep the stuff on the better side for a 13 minute or so full length with some individual parts and friends-tages. I'll upload it on YouTube and Vimeo, but I'll also make it for DVDs and make little sleeves for them that look all pro and stuff, and I'll give them to shops for free for the lulz and sell them online for a dollar to two dollars just to cover costs, but not for profit. Thanks for your input.
And I have a quick question about the HMC40. I'm definitely getting one, and I already bought an FC-E9 off amazon for 94 dollars. Do you think I could fit my set-up in an AmazonBasics camera backpack? The dimensions for the HMC40 are 12" x 5.3" x 5.3" (I think that's w/o the handle, which would be permanently mounted). The dimensions for the bag internally are 10" x 5" x 14.75". I'd also carry around a Sennheiser MKE 400 (which is smaller than a Rode VMP, I could probably just shove it under my handle), my fisheye, and my video light, which has the dimensions of 5" x 2" x 4". Do you think the bag would fit all of it?
The "which bag" questions are tough, because there are so many out there, there are zillions used, some are really pricey, and what form works for you? Backpack, sling bag, traditional handle-bag? If you work out of your car, a Pelican case with cloth dividers is like a Rolls-Royce.
That said, I took an RB, 2 lenses, 2 backs, a folder, a spot meter, a Hawkeye and 2 filter wallets from the USA to Europe and all around the continent in a cheap Amazon Basics backpack (yeah, it weighed like 30 lbs, got it free on a promotion though). I also have a Think Tank pack, it's just a bit bulkier but really nice. The style of bag is what matters most (I'm a big backpack fan myself, since they're functionally like a standard bag but easier to lug around). My #1 criteria is removable dividers; I have so many cases now, and I have a giant sack of dividers - I can make a case for any trip or gig based on what I want to take with me.
My portable VR days are over, but the Amazon reconfigurable camera bag was a cheap-ish godsend.
Long ago, I moved from camera/light tripods to heavy duty clamps for the Lighthouses. Less wobble in use, smaller (fit in the bag!), and less fiddly to set up. You just need any shelves near your playspace. They even work vertically - clamped on the side wall of a bookshelf. That's one of my permanent Lighthouse mounts!
My 2016 Amazon orders don't link to items anymore. But the clamps I got over the years were identical from a varitey of changing brands. Start with one of these, see if you like it:

The reconfigurable bag appears to not exist any more. This bundled looks right, but I think it's the slightly smaller version than mine.
