I was getting horrible static on my motherboard with ALC1220 audio, which is apparently a known issue. I recently got one of these since it was cheap to try out (I only paid $9, so look around for equivalents if it's much more than that), and no drivers needed. So far it works well with the same ZM-1 mic I had before.
I think you just need a USB to 3.5 adapter like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N905VOY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=AKXVBT49GGF3B&psc=1
Your headset may have come with an adapter to split the audio and microphone.
Thanks for the reply. So something like this adapter and then plug in and it should work? https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-External-Headphone-Microphone-Desktops/dp/B01N905VOY/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=Raspberry+Sound+Card+USB&qid=1650912619&sr=8-1
You're probably looking for a USB-A to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter.
This one has separate headphone/mic jacks but you can find ones with combined jacks: https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-External-Headphone-Microphone-Desktops/dp/B01N905VOY/
