oh silly me. i called them shelves.....They are two big bookcases that are fixed on the wall. The only way those fall is the wall falls....and then losing my figures would be the least of my problems XD

That earthquake was quite big, bigger that it should be, so i dont really think that magnitude is gonna be a common thing. Most should be 3-5 on the scale. But still im trying to be sure.

is this the one you use https://www.amazon.com/Quakehold-88111-Museum-Putty-Neutral/dp/B0002VA9NA/ref=sr_1_1?crid=11LLUH97MYZI3&keywords=Quakehold+museum+putty&sprefix=quakehold+museum+putty%2Caps%2C291&sr=8-1

Put a couple small blobs of museum putty on the inside of the collar. It’s pliable and removable. It works really well for things like this. https://www.amazon.com/Quakehold-88111-Museum-Putty-Neutral/dp/B0002VA9NA

Some things that have worked for me:

If the closed door isn't working, try a screen door instead. Less noise even if they're throwing themselves against it. Scratching also will do less. You will need to reinforce it though because the cats will find a way to burst through the velcro. I use thumbtacks and painter's tape at the bottom to make sure it stays closed.

When are you feeding them? I have mine on my schedule via an auto-feeder. Breakfast at 8:30am (right after I wake up), and dinner around 9pm (when I usually finish dinner). This gets their bellies fully at the most ideal times to be calmer. They don't usually act as rambunctious if they're full.

If they're knocking stuff over, then you'll have to start cat proofing. Have you tried museum putty for things that are decor?
