If you liked the Karen story you might enjoy the book Get Well Soon: History's Worst Plagues and the Heroes Who Fought Them by Jennifer Wright. It was written 2017 so a bit out dated since Covid hit. I found it thru MFM in an odd round about way. I really enjoyed I'll Be Gone in the Dark - Golden State Killer audiobook Gabra Zackman narrator so much that I went searching for other books read by Gabra & found this Get Well Soon book. It has history & a bit of dark humor, so not dry at all. I really enjoyed it :)
