I have and use something similar, but cheaper. Mine is like this style.

I keep it mounted to a wood round outside near my main pile and usually make about two milk crates worth of kindling at a time. I then let the milk crates "season" a bit more in my garage. 4 pound sledge hammer is all it takes. Fun times. No missing fingers.
