The best choice would be something like this. It allows you to use component cables and doesn't have the shit quality that (most) Wii2HDMI does. The difference between component and composite is that component is a higher definition. Some people call component "RGB cables", which makes sense because they have an additional red plug as well as a green and blue one alongside the red and white for stereo audio. Composite just has stereo audio cables and a single yellow cable for video. Both are analog signals. Component supports up to 1080i (maybe 1080p but don't quote me on that), and composite only goes to 480i.

All the Wii2HDMI does is convert that analog signal to digital for the HDMI to read. Sure, the thing I linked does the exact same thing, but it's much better quality. I own one myself and it's far better quality than those Wii HDMI dongles. You'll get a very solid 480p image out of this and I think it looks spectacular. You don't need any fancy component cable in my opinion, but if you just have to go with the Nintendo ones then they're 30 bucks. I use an off-brand one and they haven't caused me any issues. Here is that, if you're interested.

Good luck!

I use one of these with a PS3 that has a busted HDMI port. It's been working well, although there's a tiny bit of interference that's visible on some screens.

Thanks for the tip. I will give that a try. If it does not work I think I will try this one:

You don't have a lot of information to go off of here, but I would bet that the issue is the "Wii 2 HDMI" device you use. It doesn't look like those type of devices have any proper power running though them.

If I needed to do what you are trying to accomplish, I would personally scrap the "Wii 2 HDMI" idea, go online, and get a "Component HD AV Cable" for the Wii. Then, get a "Component to HDMI Converter" as well.

Its more money and more work and more cables, but it is all well powered, will have a better quality signal both in audio and video at the end of the day. I'll link examples below.

For an idea on how that would all connect
Wii > Component Cable > Component Converter (powered) > HD 60s

What kind of VGA adapter do you have? Was it the VGA box? If so, VGA toHDMI converter is a good way to go (there are a few ways to supportaudio depending on your setup). Those older boxes are pretty solid. Andnew boxes are being created by the Behar Bros that support component and HDMI out for around $70. https://www.beharbros.com/xedusa

A modded 360 component cable to fit the OG Xbox or Monster cable under $50 is a good deal. An Xbox HD Pack or OEM component cable will run around $65-80.

I have a 3rd party component cable that was made at the same time as the original OEMcomponent cable, and it's nearly a duplicate to the OEM, but they don't pop up on eBayoften; most people overlook them, and I get them for around $30. I also have an OEM component cable, and I can attest that both of those cables are superior to any currently made cable coming from China that's under $20.

If you're hooking you Xbox to a CRT, I see very little difference between S-Video and Component, but both are a huge improvement over composite.

If it's going to a modern TV, I would buy this cable for $40:https://www.ebay.com/itm/304696347820?hash=item46f1514cac:g:~LsAAOSwgNFjZBJu&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoJhQV2RyCmggaVo2Sxi3CmB%2BBDSIOCwPYlXxl%2FL6%2FrRgtwyIoJs%2BQQQFdn0jCnmHqTzNhVQuX%2BjyHfZREIsJ2zYS5aFKuN2TLkNd6gSyX22zEyz6upVDQa48E1jkIlOcJGwTq5ddXs8pDvjkpETgR40mGu72qwl405ovGd%2BXbV9M%2FPIMNRDnDzvaLCTh4clLWTwJgTiX2SMN%2Bwwo6u8X2Wo%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR-bh04SPYQ

and connect it to a lagless component to HDMI converter like this:https://www.amazon.com/Portta-N3CVRHP-Component-Converter-support/dp/B003VJ9RP6

Which is a $60 investment.

All in all, you're looking at spending anywhere from $40 to $80 depending on your needs. Unfortunately, it's not a cheap endeavor anymore, unless you get lucky.

Edit: I have all the things I'm recommending above, so I can only attest to my first-hand knowledge. I have multiple OG Xbox's that I've modded and connected to CRT, 1080p, and 4K displays (sometimes with an upscaler like the Retrotink 5x in between). Your needs and experience may vary.

Using composite video and a scaler like that is going to give you crap image quality. At the very least you should get a set of component cables for the Wii and PS2, then you can use a cheap converter like this.

This one. I've been using it for two weeks and it has been great so far. It's the component to hdmi transcoder recommended by RetroRGB.

You should also try to get good quality component cables if you don't have one. Something like Rocketfish or the oem nintendo cables work great.
