If i remember correctly RAM is cheaper on some occasions too! probably 20-30% on some promo seasons..

That's the problem! The curve in the pricing.

8TB = $200

10TB = $300

16TB = $600

In Japan anyway. The sweet spot looked to be around 8TB.
