I use a 3ft (1m) gen2 10gbs extension as breakaway protection for my ps5 port. I have the extension anchored to the stand in case the cord gets yanked or tripped over. I got one with a 90 degree head on it since my PS5 is vertical. It's already saved my port a few times now.
I liked these clips because they clasp closed around the wire and won't pop out of place. To keep them from sliding more than I want, I put a few wraps of electrical tape on the side of the cable clamp going to the ps5. It acts as a stop so the extension doesn't pull through the clamp.
On the topic of using magnetic cables or adapters. Fried damaged ports have happened to people using magnetic connectors and is a legit concern. I was originally going to use one of them as well until I read into it more.
USB-C magnetic tip adaptors or cables are not compliant with the USB specifications. This means any resulting damage to products, which is a very real possibility even if it is a relatively small chance, would not be covered by product warranties."
Even if the chance is 1 in a million that a fried port happens due to the use of the magnetic adapter, the risk is not worth it to me to be the 1 in a million.
It is worth noteing however, that extension cables are also NOT compliant with the USB specifications. Thankfully there are not the widespread reports of fires or damaged ports caused by their use when sorted by lowest ratings which is what alarmed me when I contemplated using magnetic cables.
