Here's a response I got from Rove customer support. It looks like they still recommend their microSD card but did confirm that the Amazon Basics microSD card should work:
Thank you for reaching out to us, and I hope this email finds you doing well.
I am sorry you're having trouble with the dash cam giving an error saying the memory card is too slow.
As we all know, memory cards acquire bad sectors in the long period of LOOP RECORDING, or they might have become defective already that works initially but won't actually last.
The camera's firmware has a fail-safe feature that advises the customers if there is any issue with the memory card so they can take action to resolve it. I hope this makes sense.
You can try to format your memory card to a PC to solve this issue. However, there's no guarantee that it would fix it.
To solve this, you just need to replace your memory card. This time I recommend the new ROVE Ultimate memory card.

Our Rove memory card is also available on Amazon at this link: https://www.amazon.com/ROVE-Ultimate-microSDXC-Android-Tablets/dp/B0BGVCK7MJ/ref=sr_1_1_sspa
You can also get any brand memory card as long as it is class 10, U3 speed. You can try using Amazon Basics Memory Card. Though it is NOT specifically made for a dash cam and we don't know how long it will last, you can try it as a cheaper option and so far in our experience, it is working fine. But if it doesn't, we can't say anything about their quality control, and you have to take the warranty claim up with the Amazon Basics Memory Card team.

Please be advised as well that based on our experience helping our customers troubleshoot issues over the years, we do NOT recommend Samsung or SanDisk memory cards anymore, as they have caused more issues with our dashcams than other brands of cards.
Though we are not removing the fact that there are still genuine cards out in the market, one thing to note is that if you get another brand card, we can't say anything about its quality and how long it will last. Also, if the same issue happened again, you might have a hard time reaching out for a replacement from them.
I hope you can understand the value of the video evidence you are trying to capture in a critical event. Therefore getting a reliable card is most important.
