Fairly new to reloading myself, but I’ll share my experience with what I can.

  1. For 9mm loads, you’re looking at a narrow margin in powder weights. My cheap Frankford digital scale got great reviews, but my zero would shift by as much as 0.3 grains just sitting on my bench, which is quite a bit for 9mm charges. I personally use a powder throw from RCBS, and weigh the first 5 cases on a beam scale, then weigh every 5th.

It helps me to measure out both max and min variation charge, then set your scale to target charge to see what it looks like on your scale when it is out of your acceptable range. (Example: if my target charge is 4.0 grains, and I can safely load +0.8 gr. Or -0.4 grains, then measure out your minimum charge, 3.6 grains, set scale to target 4.0 gr. And see how far the beam is off from center, that way you know if it goes near or below that point it is out of your range). Painters tape can help you mark max and min on your scale to make it faster. Though this is excessive, since most throws are capable of +/- 0.1 grains, I’m just paranoid haha.

  1. I’ll let more experienced people handle this one.

  2. Primers are selling out in minutes (if not seconds) online. This chat (discord app) helped me find primers, powder, and bullets, but you have to act really fast. Reloading Discord Chat

  3. I remove primers first using this hand tool from frankford. That way my primer pockets get cleaned at the same time. It’s really quick, and I watch movies while doing it (lay down a towel to catch stray primers/residue or the missus might get ornery). To me it’s well worth the investment to keep from having to be at my bench depriming for hours, plus this tool makes it really fast. depriming tool

  4. Bullet puller is what you’re looking for. I’m also in the market for a good one, so I’m interested in others answers. They make ones you smack on your bench (impact puller), and ones you mount to your press.
